Health and Safety
The health, safety and well-being of our people and our customers is our number one priority. Health and safety management is an integral part of all MIE’s operations and activities. Since our inception, MIE has achieved an envious safety record with no major injuries. This has been achieved with a clear focus, well developed systems, detailed reporting, and a culture that promotes safety throughout the organisation.
Before beginning work for any customer we develop a health and safety management plan which clearly outlines the specific safety issues for the project including:
- Frequency of safety toolbox meetings
- Collecting and formatting safety data
- Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) relevant to the project
- Workplace health and safety requirements
- MIE engineering specialists must complete site specific and MIE induction training before beginning work
- MIE engineering specialists are required to complete project specific safety training certificates and regular refresher training in safety aspects of instrumentation and electrical installation work, safety sampling and resuscitation training prior to commencing work
- Management must ensure that work is carried out in a manner such that personnel are not exposed to hazard or risk
- Personnel must ensure that all reasonable care is taken so as not to endanger themselves or other persons in the workplace
- All others must be encouraged to cooperate and share in all stages of work, ensuring that the presence of hazards in the workplace are removed
It is our constant focus to find the safest approach at every level of the organisation and achieve zero harm.
